Project 02 — Key Tech Labs
Six zones of innovation built from two repurposed 40-foot shipping containers — a living laboratory for the circular economy.
The Vision
The CE Hub S.T.R.E.A.M. Center by Key Tech Labs is a testament to sustainable architecture. Rather than building a traditional schoolhouse, we have constructed a living laboratory from two 40-foot shipping containers, expanded with custom wooden awnings.
The building itself is a physical embodiment of the circular economy it seeks to teach — powered by solar, watered by rain, and connected to the world via satellite.

The Zones
Science
A living laboratory dedicated to regenerative agriculture and botany. Students study plant life cycles, soil health, and sustainable food production via an advanced Aeroponics system in a controlled, year-round environment.
Technology & Art
The technological heart of the center. Equipped with 3D printers that utilize recycled plastics — shredded on-site from plastic bottles and waste — this zone empowers users to turn digital designs into physical reality.
Reading
A quiet, resource-rich environment dedicated to literacy, research, and study. The Library houses physical texts, digital archives, and educational materials essential for supporting the broader S.T.R.E.A.M. curriculum.
Engineering
A rugged, hands-on space designed for physical fabrication and mechanical engineering. This zone provides the heavy-duty workbenches and tools necessary for building, repairing, and experimenting with physical infrastructure.
Art & Presentation
A dynamic space designed for expression and community gathering. The Theater serves as a stage for student presentations, documentary screenings, and community town halls, blending the arts with civic engagement.
Math & Practical Science
A fully functional culinary space where mathematics meets chemistry. The Kitchen zone teaches practical life skills and nutritional sciences, directly utilizing produce grown in the adjacent Greenhouse.
